As a creative affiliate of StoneCreek Partners, AEC provides ideation, master planning, venue design, and graphic support, to SCP works. AEC has extensive experiential design experience, as well as master planning, site planning, and related experience.
AEC Entertainment was formed to pursue the making of destination places, through available design, build, and operate opportunities. For our own account, we have licensed development projects underway, and R&D for our own branded venues. For 3rd-party clients, we provide consulting, design, and marketing services. We combine a unique form of experiential design, with a hands-on operations perspective. Pragmatic creativity is our focus.
We draw from “best practices” experience not simply in entertainment, but in the retail, resorts, and recreation industries, even wellness facilities.
Our management group has worked together for years prior to the formation of AEC, in the U.S., in China, Europe, the GCC, and in Sub-Saharan African. Our partners have helmed operating groups, and owned their own construction, consulting, and design firms. We are both multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural, with a honed sensitivity for the impact of local customs and practices on specific local destinations.
For destination places, the motivation that drives an end user to leave their home or hotel room, to visit a place, is based on a user’s perception of trip purpose, alternative destinations, and other factors. We look for the “guest trip motivation” of end users, for most places we are involved with.
In all of AEC’s work, the focus is on the end user, the guest, customer, visitor, tenant, employee, or client.
Placemaking techniques are varied, and AEC embraces the variety of hard design, soft programming, operational, and branded means of designing for the attraction of a place.
AEC focuses on the conceptual aspects of master planning, the early schematic phase, to develop Owner’s objectives for a place into working site organization, massing, and relationships of on-site activities.
AEC’s site planning is often rather detailed in its placement of components, 3D views, and overall massing. But while AEC has architects within the team, material selection, civil engineering, and final architecture, we leave that all to an architect-of-record.
AEC utilizes lateral ideation, as a means of guiding a team’s discovery of “big idea” alternatives, and means to achieve such big ideas.
At times AEC is asked to apply its creative approach to more product-oriented concepting, often based upon licensed intellectual property.
