Mall of Egypt Due to Open 3rd Qtr 2016

Scheduled to open in 2016, the 160,000-square meter Mall of Egypt will be a supermall dominating the western half of the greater Cairo metropolis.  Total development costs are estimated at $800 million.

The mall will be a sister brand to Mall of the Emirates, combining a unique leisure offering to complement the strong value, fashion and lifestyle retail precincts that characterize Majid Al Futtaim Properties malls. The mall will feature a range of international fashion and lifestyle retail brands (380 outlets), a Carrefour hypermarket, a Ski Egypt ski park, a 17-screen cinema, a family entertainment center and over 50 food and beverage outlets.

The USD $400 million construction contract has been awarded to a 50/50 joint venture between Orascom Construction and BESIX Group.

The company has two existing malls in Egypt, in Alexandria and in Maadi.
