The mega mixed-use project planned by Oceanwide Holdings next to LA’s Staples Center and LA Live!, will include three residential and hotel towers along with a retail podium.
The hotel has been named as Park Hyatt, a 184-room hotel including 34 suites.
The facilities’s retail podium component will include a 32,000-SF LED ribbon wall.
The USD $1.0 billion Oceanwide Plaza is currently under construction. It is Oceanwide Holdings’ first such development in North America.
From December 2014 post:
Oceanwide Holdings recently acquired the 4.6-acre Fig Central Project in Los Angeles. Oceanwide reportedly spent USD $175 million to buy the Fig Central site, which was previously entitled. No timeline or construction budget has been announced.
The Fig Central Project site is currently a surface parking lot just east of Staples Center. Oceanwide is planning to build three towers on top of a five-story parking and retail podium that will be bounded by Figueroa, 11th, Flower and 12th streets.
The north tower would be 49 stories tall, while two south towers would be 40 stories. Plans for the north tower call for 164 residential units above a hotel with 183 rooms.
The south towers would have 170 residential units each. The homes would range from 1,000 SF (for a one-bedroom) to 6,000 SF (a penthouse suite). The hotel would include a health club and spa, a ballroom, a nightclub, a cafe, a “celebrity chef restaurant” and an outdoor pool deck.
